Over the weekend, the second stage of the karting season in the Latvian Championship, Pro-Kart and Rotax Challenge Cup was held on the Smiltene “Teperis” track. The qualification day was spent in rainy weather, while on the day of the competition the track was taken over by heavy wind gusts. A total of 126 participants from all the Baltic States took part in the start on the day of the competition.

Overall, the competition went very smoothly, without significant incidents or delays. The Smiltene track is definitely not only one of the most challenging karting tracks in Latvia, due to its endless curves, but also one of the most scenic, because at its foot is Lake Teperis.

 Once again, many thanks must be given to all the teams, athletes and staff who treated the newly introduced conditions, which were introduced on the basis of the current situation with regard to the restriction of Covid-19 in the country, very responsibly.

Already in August we will meet for a very special weekend in Madona. No 7.08. - 9.08. not only 2 stages of the season will take place, but with a celebration in honor of Latvian Karting 60! This weekend in August will definitely be spent in a whirlwind of positive emotions, as it includes not only competitions, but also an entertaining event, a retro karting parade trip, veterans' competition and, of course, being together, sharing memories in honor of the important anniversary. We invite you to book this weekend for celebrations, as well as invite anyone who would also like to show their retro karting at the exhibition or take it along the karting track. Considering that this weekend will be eventful, so that there will be enough time for everything, class trips and amalgamation will probably be optimized based on the number of registered participants - information about this will follow!
