The final Pro-Kart race stage will take place next week on the 23rd of August in Madona. An exciting race is on the way, as the stage on Saturday will show who have been the best drivers this season.
The final stage of the race also comes with a few remarkable changes. For instance, a qualification time limit of 107% will be introduced, but as the main organiser of the race, Valdis Brutans, says – the decision doesn’t mean that someone will be pushed away from participating.
‘It’s been done so that the drivers don’t have any unpleasant surprises and headaches. The referees will know which sportsmen were the slowest in the qualification rounds and the drivers will be informed that it’s highly likely for them to be taken off the track. The referees will wave a blue flag with a red cross on it in a case of elimination.’
As a surprise for some might be Raivo Luhse participating regardless of his disqualification after the last stage of the Pro-Kart race. During the extra technical check after the last race, it was ruled that Luhse’s carburetor settings were illegal and not compliant with the regulations. As it turned out after a further examination of technical regulations, obvious differences in the English and Latvian versions were found. Because the disqualification was ruled out according to the English regulations, but the base-language in the Pro-Kart races is Latvian, the disqualification was taken away and all the disputes will be addressed in accordance with the Latvian version.
Also the division of classes will slightly differ from the previous stages. For instance, MicroMax class will participate separately from the Raket class.
