Children, youth and historical karting festival
22.06.2023 20:17
This karting competition is generated as a traditional competition for children and youth, once a year, with a good prize fund. Venue Madona karting track, this year it is July 7-8. As part of the competition, there are also historic class rides, in which both karting veterans and athletes who own 90th or older sports equipment take part.
The author of the competition idea is Revits Rubtsovs, owner and manager of the karting sports team MRG group. The first competition was held and the tradition started in 2022.
The core of the competition is made up of children's classes (ages 6-15). All representatives of the Rotax Max Micro, Mini and Junior classes, not only from the Baltics, but also from Scandinavia and Central Europe, are invited and welcomed to the competition.
Karting history and veterans are not forgotten, because whoever makes friends with the past will also have a beautiful future. In this regard, all lovers, enthusiasts and owners of retro karting are invited to participate in the festival of historical classes. This year, there are competitions in the Retro class, where karts with Minsk or Ceset engines must be used, and the kart frame must be a product of the former socialist countries, and the tires must be from those times or their replicas. Modern tires may also be used in Retro-M and Retro-CZ classes. There are also the slightly more modern classes M125 and CZ125, where the engines must be practically the same as in the Retro class, but the chassis/frame of the kart can be of modern origin. And then there is the Open100 class - the former international class, for engines without a gearbox. In his time, Tomas' father Mareks Štolcermanis achieved brilliant success in this class.
The competition format for this competition differs from that of other championships and cups in the region. The agenda is very intensive. There are a total of 5 races and one qualifying race. Accordingly, the day starts with a warm-up race, followed by qualifying races, followed by two preliminary races to determine the starting positions for the next races. Then there are two final races and the day ends with the Super Final race, the winners of which receive grand prizes:
First place winners receive a brand new racing engine (compliant with the rules of their class)
Second place winners receive a MyChron karting on-board computer
Third place winners receive a class appropriate set of rain tires
In historical classes, the agenda is not so intense, the athletes are not professionals and the technique is not the first freshness. Accordingly, the winner in these classes will be determined by the sum of the results of the two final races.
Entry to the event is free for spectators, as usual in karting. In addition, this year the competition will also be available live on Facebook and YouTube.
Participants' pre-registration will be closed on 02.07.2023.
